Ordering a new solo costume is a big thing - a chance to get that
dream costume you've wanted for so long! I understand how important
it is to get a dress that is just right, so you can rest
assured you will get a dress you're happy with and feel confident
in when you step up to dance.
For that reason, all my dresses are one of a kind creations - I
never repeat a design. Together we'll create a dress that suits
your colouring, personality and style. As you're involved throughout
the design process, you will get as much input as you want into
the colours and fabrics,ensuring you get exactly the dress you dreamed
of.
How does it work?
Once your initial deposit has been recieved, an order pack will
be sent out so you can provide all the details of what you're
after. I'm always on hand by email to answer any questions and
discuss and help narrow down choices regarding styles, fabric
types etc. I also send out a clear measuring guide which includes
photos to make that part of the process easier.
Using your measurements a pattern is drafted and mock up bodice
is made. If you're ordering from interstate or overseas I will
post this to you so it can be tried on and any nescessary adjustments
can be made before the dress has been constructed!
I'll also draw up a design based on the ideas we've discussed
and you will get to check this over and approve it before the
dress is started. That way you can make sure you're happy with
the design and even ask for changes before the dress has been
started.
In terms of fabrics, you can have as little or as much input
as you desire - from choosing them all or supplying them yourself,
right through to letting me select them for you. The choice is
yours here, depending on what you feel most comfortable with!
If you live close enough, we can arrange for you to visit and
we can discuss and finalise all the above in person. Otherwise
it can be done by post, email and phone.
Once all the details have been finalised, your dress will be
made and finished just how we planned!

How much will this cost?!
Obviously there is a large variation in pricing for solo costumes
depending on the age and size of the dancer, the type and cost
of fabrics, the style and amount of work in the design. As a rough
idea, a custom made dress will usually work out in the region
of AU$550 - $1700, with the exact cost dependant on the above
factors.

- Dancer's clothing size and/or chest, waist and dress length
measurements
- Any initial thoughts on the types of fabrics you prefer
- Desired style (eg. 5 panels, layered ruffles, etc
